About the Minute Boys Series |
| So many have asked about the rest of the "Minute
Boys" series and whether Lost Classics is going to republish them in their entirety,
it seemed appropriate to explain a little about this series. We have republished the first two books in this series--The Minute Boys of Lexington and The Minute Boys of Bunker Hill. We chose these two books because they were written by Edward Stratemeyer, the creator of the "Hardy Boys," "Nancy Drew," the "Rover Boys," and other well-loved characters from America's literary past. Stratemeyer wrote engaging stories for young people, these two being some of the very few he did based on history and in his own name. The other reason we chose these two books is that they are continuous stories with the same characters in both books. There are other books in this series, such as The Minute Boys of the Green Mountains, etc. that we have not republished. This is because these books do not continue the same story lines or characters found in the first two books. They are non-continuous and also were not written by Stratemeyer. The other titles were written by Jame Otis (Mary of Plymouth). We have considered republishing these other "Minute Boys" books, but for the reasons stated above we have decided, for the time being, not to. |
